Performing Live: Fletcher

Setting the Stage for a Star

96.5 TDY brings artists in for live performances and interviews at the Audacy office, broadcasting the session while inviting listeners to watch in person, so the backdrop behind the artist needed to feel like a real concert environment rather than a static station slide. I designed a looping motion graphic to play on the screen behind Fletcher for the full performance, built around a cool teal to deep blue gradient with soft, twinkling star accents so it would read clearly on camera and in photos taken by the audience.

Built to Loop, Built to Last

Since the graphic had to run continuously behind a live performance without becoming a distraction, I focused the animation on subtle, repeating movement, the artist's name gently fading and shifting position, rather than anything that would compete with the artist on stage. Keeping the loop seamless meant the transition between the end and beginning of the animation needed to be invisible, so the backdrop could play for the full length of the set without ever feeling like it restarted.
