Totally 80's Memorial Day

Boombox Energy in Motion

BIG 98.1 wanted its Memorial Day Weekend promotion to carry the same retro beach party feel as the static campaign, but built out as a motion graphic for on-air and digital use. I animated the scene around a bold, chunky "Totally 80s" wordmark and a classic red boombox, layering in a silhouetted crowd dancing against palm trees and a striped 80s sky to set the tone before the type even settles into place.

Waves That Keep the Party Going

To keep the loop feeling alive rather than static, I animated a teal, patterned wave along the bottom of the frame, giving the piece a subtle sense of motion that ties back to the beach setting. Combined with the bold primary color palette and retro typography, the animation turned a nostalgic summer graphic into something that felt energetic and attention grabbing on screen.
